• Payment plan details - choose the option that works best for you and your family:

  • Option 1: The standard plan. You pay an initial deposit is due when you start care, then you pay as you go at each visit and the balance if any is due in full at 36 weeks.

  • Option 2: Extended Payment Plans are available when you begin care in the first trimester. You pay 12 monthly payments that are evenly divided over the course of your care. You must begin care before the end of the first trimester.

• Prenatal visit schedule: every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks and weekly from 36 weeks until birth

• Client Handbook and Resources

• Referrals for pregnancy/postpartum classes, doulas, childbirth ed, lactation consultants, pre/post-natal chiropractors, massage therapists, pelvic floor therapists, photographers and more.

• Standard of Care labs offered, cost of labs not included

• Hour long appointments

• Nutritional, lifestyle and herbal counseling

• Referrals for ultrasounds or OB consult as needed

• On-call for your birth from 37-42 weeks gestation

• Birth tub provided when desired and planning for a waterbirth

• Labor/Birth care from active labor until delivery

• Experienced Licensed Midwife at your birth 

• Midwife's assistant at your birth

• Immediate postpartum care for 3-6 hours after delivery.

• Newborn Exam (head to toe check up with weight, measurements and reflexes).

• Extended Postpartum visit schedule: 24-48 hours after birth, 3-4 days, 1 week, 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months.

• Newborn care options that your want (opt in or out of each option)! California Newborn Metabolic Screen, CCHD Screen (for Congenital Heart Defects), Vitamin K and erythromycin ointment.

• Investment for this package (choose the option you want):

  • Option 1: All In-Home Visits (prenatal and postpartum visits at your house): $8000

  • Option 2: Office Visits (prenatal visits until 36 weeks at my office, then 37 weeks until delivery home visits, the first month of postpartum visits at your home): $7000

  • Option 3: Medi-Cal Discount (office visits schedule for prenatal/postpartum care): $5800

Hospital Doula Monitrice Service

• A planned hospital birth with support that blends the role of midwife and doula into one package.

• You will have 2 prenatal sessions each lasting about 2 hours to prepare for birth.

• Text and email support throughout your care as needed.

• Clinical assessment of vitals, listening to baby’s heartbeat and palpating baby’s position

• Physical, emotional and informational support throughout labor.

• Labor support that includes clinical assessments that you want (such as listening to baby’s heartbeat, cervical exams or visual assessments) to provide reassurance as desired by the laboring person.

• Continued support in the doula role once you arrive to the hospital.

• Immediate postpartum support for 2-3 hours after birth. This may include help with breastfeeding, running to get you a bite to eat or taking some photos with your phone or camera.

• Investment for this package: $4500 (payment plans available)

Postpartum Midwifery + Doula Services
Postpartum Midwifery: $350 per visit
Postpartum Doula: $80 per hour

Your postpartum period is such a tender time of highs and sometimes lows. Celebrating this beautiful time with extra love and support can be a wonderful way to start this new chapter no matter if it is baby number one or baby number six. I recommend a package of 5 postpartum visits but am available for ala cart visits as well.

I offer extended postpartum services for those planning a hospital birth but desiring all the wonderful benefits of midwifery care in the postpartum. This includes mother and baby visits, including physical assessments like maternal blood pressure and newborn weight. Additionally, I offer daytime postpartum doula care for new families. Meal prep and cooking, light housework, lactations support, newborn questions, baby care, mother care, belly binding, baby wearing help and family adjustments are all available.

Well Person, Fertility and Preconception Visits: $200

• Midwifery care that includes preconception, fertility counseling and well-person care (you choose what kind of visit you need).

• 60-90 minute visit with the services you need: may include PAP smears, lab work, lifestyle counseling, cycle tracking, and optimizing fertility.

When choosing midwifery care for a homebirth it is important to know that the current going rate is between $6500 to $9000 in Southern California. This is normally paid over the course of your care in an agreed upon payment plan. Midwifery packages include comprehensive prenatal, labor/birth and postpartum care. Rainbow midwifery believes in access to care and strives to create avenues to make your dream birth possible whether that is through a planned home birth or a supported hospital birth.

About using Insurance: PPO and Health Shares usually reimburse for at least a portion of midwifery care. At Rainbow Midwifery we work with a biller to streamline insurance reimbursements. We are not in-network with any insurance plans. HMO does typically not cover out-of-network midwifery care. We also accept HSA/FSA cards.

The Home Sweet Homebirth Package is Self-Pay. It is a discounted bundled rate that does not establish the practice’s charges for individual services submitted to insurance. Payment plans are standard for all self-pay birth packages. An additional travel fee will be applied for those outside of a 10 mile radius of the midwife.
